World's first EcoDesign certification for high-temperature CO₂

Tequs has achieved a landmark milestone by becoming the first manufacturer in the world to receive EcoDesign certification for a high-temperature CO₂ heat pump.

A breakthrough in sustainable heating

The certification, awarded under the European EcoDesign Directive (EU) 2009/125/EC, validates the energy efficiency and environmental performance of the Tequs heat pump. This demonstrates that high-temperature heat pumps can meet strict European energy efficiency standards while operating with a natural refrigerant.

Natural refrigerant, minimal impact

The Tequs heat pump uses natural CO₂ (R744) as its refrigerant, a substance with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 1. Capable of delivering up to 80 kW of heating capacity and producing hot water up to 90 °C, the unit eliminates the need for fossil fuel boilers in commercial and industrial applications.

Versatile by design

The unit operates as a heat pump, a reversible heat pump, a chiller, or a domestic hot water heat pump. This versatility allows a single system to provide simultaneous heating and cooling when both sides are utilized, reaching an operating COP range of 2 to 6.

  • Flexible heat recovery from multiple sources including air, water, and ground
  • Simultaneous cooling, heating, and domestic hot water production
  • Preconfigured and factory-tested for fast on-site installation
  • 10-inch touchscreen interface for straightforward local operation
  • Remote access and monitoring via 5G and Ethernet connectivity
